Methodology
My Little School has been created to provide the children with an active environment where numerous opportunities are given to explore, experiment, create and analyze in a meaningful way.
My Little School supports and defends simultaneously the Whole Language approach which integrates children’s social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth. Our commitment is to generate an optimal learning environment for young learners in which they construct their own meanings from the world around them.
My Little School’s institution respect children’s stages of development and strongly believes that children learn best:
- When they feel comfortable and secure.
- Through active manipulation of objects.
- When provided with experiences which involve the greatest number of senses.
- Through repeated and varied experiences.
- Those things which are important to them at the moment.
- When they have opportunities to fully explore and experiment.
- When activities are carefully and developmentally sequenced.
- When they experience individualized instruction, rather than being required to move as a group from one learning objective to the next.
- When they have opportunities to utilize play to translate experience into understanding.
- When curriculum addresses all aspects of children’s development.
- When their progress is systematically assessed, strengths are built on, weaknesses prescribed for.
- When the educational intention of the program is clearly defined.
- When their parents are significantly involved in the educational process.
- When teachers feel committed to the program.
- When teachers utilize language which enhances critical thinking skills.
